★★【Important Reminder for Inbound Employees】★★

🙏All KMU faculty, staff, and project personnel are required to implement a 14-day home quarantine and the subsequent 7-day period of self-health management, and to notify the Office of Environmental Health and Safety by completing the TOCC survey in the "T.1.0.010b. Travel and Contact History" program of KMU Campus Information System, after entering Taiwan. If symptoms associated with fever occur, please fill in the survey in the "T.1.0.010. Self-health Management" program as well.
In case of a leak in epidemic prevention or damage caused by a concealed history of travel and contact, the School will surelylook into the relevant liability and hold the pertinent person accountable.
🙏Given the worldwide rampant outbreak of mutated coronaviruses, starting September 8, 2021, those who just completed their 14-day quarantine/isolation are required to work from home during the following 7-day autonomous health management period, with no access to the campus. In the above case, a leave request with evidence of an official letter approved by the President for going abroad, and notification of home quarantine/isolation attached for work from home is necessary.

🙏Please be reminded that by the resolution of the 55th meeting of the University's Severe and Special Infectious Pneumonia Prevention Team held on August 25, 2022, the announcement of March 17, 2020 requires that all faculty, staff, and project personnel should gain the approval of the President with flight itinerary(including transit points) attached before traveling abroad during the COVID-19 pandemic, no matter what kind of leave is taken, is still in effect. Besides, on the day of returning to Taiwan, it is also required to fill out the TOCC survey in the "T.1.0.01b. Travel and Contact History" program of KMU Campus Information System and follow government and school regulations for quarantine and isolation.

🙋New!Please be advised that effective as of December 2, 2022, faculty, staff, and project personnel are no longer required to obtain the principal's approval before going abroad; hence there is no need to attach a letter of approval or flight schedule to the leave request of such kind. Instead, the recommendations of the Central Epidemic Command Center regarding global epidemics, border control, and prevention measures should be consulted when planning an itinerary abroad, following point 11 of the Ministry of Education's "Guidelines for the Prevention and Management of Severe Special Infectious Pneumonia in Colleges and Universities" amended on October 7, 2022.

However, when asking for official leave, please still check whether you are going abroad, and fill in the reason for the leave and the place of travel in detail, to facilitate the collection and screening of information required for accreditations; please also attach the relevant official documents to the leave request and set up the review process to the first-level administrator of the unit, to comply with the University’s hierarchical structure for reviewing leave requests.

As for the leave application for faculty members with attending physician status, the regulations of the University's affiliated institutions and related businesses will be applied.

★★【Going Abroad/Cross-district and Leave Request】★★

Before this pandemic ends, please avoid traveling abroad. When asking for a leave, it is required that everyone disclose whether he/she is going abroad. If so, flight information such as travel destinations and places for transit/transfer must be provided, with evidence of approval obtained from the School’s President and flight itinerary attached.

However, unless the trip is indispensable, urgent, and approved by the School’s President beforehand, such leave requests will be denied. Even trips during holidays or annual leave must be reported accordingly.

In view of that the epidemic situation in Taiwan is getting severe, especially in northern Taiwan, it is required by the Ministry of Education that all schools’ faculty and staff reduce unnecessary travel and cross-district movement. Therefore, starting May 17, 2021, until the end of national epidemic alert level 3, all leave requests for business trips to Taipei City and New Taipei City are to be approved in advance by the School’s President.

In case of a leak in epidemic prevention or damage caused by a concealed history of travel and contact, the School will surely look into the relevant liability and hold the pertinent person accountable.

★★【Annual Employee Outing】★★

Under the impact of COVID-19, all foreign tours of the School's annual Employee Outing 2021 have been suspended while domestic tours open or close depending on the actual situation, with derived liquidated damages to be paid by the School.

★★【Gentle Reminders】★★

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, please be reminded to wash hands frequently, wear a face mask when social distancing is not available, observe coughing and sneezing etiquette, and avoid going out into public places. It’s everyone’s responsibility to follow related preventive measures and ensure the safety and health of all members of the School. If anyone feels unwell, he/she is urged to call the toll-free Communicable Disease Reporting and Consultation Hotline, 1922 (or 0800-001922), and inform the physician of any history of travel.
