Personal (Family Care) Leave |

Where a teacher or employee needs to take care of personal matters, personal leave may be granted, provided that the aggregate number of days of personal leave taken must not exceed 14 days per year. In the event of a family member needs to take the vaccination, or has a serious disease, or has other major matters that a teacher or employee must personally deal with, he or she can take up to 7 days of family care leave per year, and the number of this leave shall be incorporated into personal leave. Where the aggregate number of days of personal and family care leave taken in a year exceeds 7 days, wages will be deducted on a daily basis. |

Sick (Menstrual) Leave |

Where a teacher or employee is required to be treated medically or to rest for injury, sickness, or medical reasons, sick leave may be granted pursuant to the provisions below. Female teachers or employees having difficulties in performing their work during menstruation period may request 1-day menstrual leave each month. If the cumulative menstrual leaves do not exceed 3 days in a year, said leaves shall not be counted toward days off for sick leave. All additional menstrual leaves shall be counted toward days off for sick leave. Where the aggregate number of days of (prolonged) sick leave taken in a year exceeds 6 months, wages will be deducted on a daily basis. |

Wedding Leave |

Wedding leave shall be completed within 3 months of the 10th day before the wedding. If a special case is approved, the leave shall be completed within 1 year after the wedding. |

Pre-Maternity Leave |

Paternity leave shall be taken when accompanying the spouse to her prenatal checkups or within 15 days (including holidays) before or after the date of the spouse’s delivery or miscarriage. |

Where a teacher or employee must be granted leave for public affairs pursuant to laws, regulations, or official business, he or she is to be granted leave according to the actual number of days required. Where a teacher or employee is injured, disabled or sick as a result of an occupational accident, he or she is to be granted leave during the period of medical treatment or rest. |
