Please be advised that the implementation method of Appreciation Leave for faculty and staff from the 2026 summer to the 2027 winter break is as follows.
- During summer break from Monday, July 6 to Friday, August 14, a period of six weeks:
(1) Monday to Thursday: Work from 08:00 to 16:00, with 1.5 hours of reduced working time per day.
(2) Fridays (July 10, July 17, July 24, July 31, August 7, and August 14) are full days off.
(3) All faculty and staff will uniformly accumulate 10.5 days of appreciation leave, and no individual application is required.
- Winter break:
(1) Each unit shall arrange a one-time 1.5-day leave for faculty and staff members assigned to the unit:
Before the Lunar New Year holiday: From Tuesday afternoon, February 2 to Wednesday, February 3 (full day) or
After the Lunar New Year holiday: From Thursday, February 11 (full day) to Friday morning, February 12
(2) Such 1.5-day leave must be applied for individually according to regulations.
- Related Supporting Measures:
(1) Except where special operational needs apply, if staff are required to work on the announced non-working hours or days for official duties with special approval:
Compensatory leave accumulated during summer break must be taken before December 31 of the same year, and March 31, 2027, for compensatory leave accumulated during winter break.
(2) If compensatory leave approved by the authorized supervisor is not taken, it will not be carried forward nor converted into wages.
(3) During maternity leave or miscarriage leave, if the period overlaps with the announced leave days, those leave days shall be counted toward the statutory leave entitlement as well.
- Faculty members holding additional or joint appointments at affiliated institutions shall follow the regulations of those institutions.
- Project personnel, staff of affiliated institutions, employees of commissioned healthcare services, affiliated kindergartens, and after-school childcare service centers shall follow the regulations set by their respective units or project principal investigators based on operational needs.
