1. This announcement is made based on the consensus reached at the 10th Executive Meeting of University Management for the 2024–2025 academic year, held on April 23, 2025.
2. To enhance flexibility in vacation scheduling during the summer and winter breaks and to improve energy conservation, the implementation of appreciation leave is adjusted as follows:
(1) From July 7 to August 15 (six weeks), working hours will be shortened by 1.5 hours per day, with office hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. All Fridays during this period will be full days off.
(2) During the winter break, each unit shall schedule 1.5 consecutive days of leave for each member either before or after the Lunar New Year holiday. The specific dates and implementation details will be announced separately by the Human Resources Office.
3. For those taking appreciation leave, the following provisions apply:
(1) Employees covered by the Labor Standards Act (hereinafter referred to as “laborers”) who exceed the annual statutory number of non-working days and are unable to take appreciation leave due to work obligations may be granted compensatory leave upon approval. If the compensatory leave is not taken, it will not be deferred or converted into monetary compensation.
(2) Labor Day on Thursday, May 1, will be rescheduled. Laborers originally scheduled to work must report as usual. If the day coincides with a regular day off or other non-working rest day, no compensatory leave will be provided.
(3) If faculty and staff are on maternity leave or miscarriage leave during the designated summer or winter leave days, unlike regular days off and rest days, these summer and winter leave days must be counted as part of the leave period.
(4) Except for special operational considerations, staff members who receive approval to work on the designated summer leave days due to official duties must take their compensatory leave by December 31 of this year.
4. Faculty members holding additional or joint appointments in affiliated institutions shall follow the regulations of the respective affiliated institutions.
5. Project personnel, staff of affiliated institutions, employees of commissioned healthcare services, affiliated kindergartens, and after-school childcare service centers shall follow the regulations set by their respective units or project principal investigators based on operational needs.
