Please be informed that the School’s faculty and staff will be granted twelve Summer Appreciation Days Off this year as usual, with no leave request required. The twelve days fall respectively on every Tuesday and Friday from July 12 to August 19, 2022, as listed below.

For those employees who are subject to Labor Standards Act and entitled to the above-mentioned days off as well, Labor Day, i.e., Sunday, May 1, 2022, will be regarded as an ordinary workday, a regular leave or a rest day for which no compensatory day off will be granted as the total number of days free from attendance already exceeds the statutory annual requirement. In case of the calculation of the duration of maternity leave or miscarriage leave, no extra deduction will be made for these days off like regular leaves. Moreover, except for special business considerations approved by the School Authority, staff members who are required to work on these days off by their supervisors shall take pertinent compensatory leave before December 31 of this year (2022).

As for project personnel and those who are employed or jointly employed by affiliated hospitals, kindergarten, or childcare center, please do check with pertinent principal investigators, HR Departments, or supervisors since the policy may vary between PIs/institutions.
