Tenure-track Assistant Professor (or above)

Area of Expertise

1.      All nursing specializations welcome; preference for Community Health Nursing.(One position available)

2.      All nursing specializations welcome; preference for Obstetric Nursing.(One position available)

Criteria of Applicants

All of the following qualifications must be met:

1.   Possess a doctoral degree in a nursing-related field (applicants must hold Republic of China (Taiwan) nationality), and have at least one year of clinical experience in a hospital.

2.         Hold a registered nurse license.

3.         Meet the basic qualifications for the position as stipulated in the university’s “Teacher Appointment and Promotion Qualification Measures” and fulfill the required criteria outlined in the university’s “Scoring Standards for New Appointment and Promotion of Full-time Teachers” under Category III: Nursing Science – College of Nursing.

Attached documents

1.     One copy of the “Kaohsiung Medical University Full-time Faculty Application Form” (Attachment 01), with photo and signature (or digital image and seal).

2.         One copy each of documentary proof corresponding to the educational background and work experience listed in the application form.

           Please include copies of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral diplomas, RN license, service years verification, Ministry of Education teaching certificate, and other supporting documents.

3.         One autobiography and a future teaching and research plan.

(1)     The autobiography should specify your area of clinical experience.

(2) Include one copy of the “Future Teaching and Research Development Plan” (Attachment 02).

(3)     Any other documents beneficial for review.

4.         One copy of the “Faculty Self-Evaluation Form.”

Please complete the sections related to common and publication criteria, and the research portion for the rank of Assistant Professor (Attachment 03).

5.       One copy of the “List of Publications for Review” and related documents (Attachment 04).

Please attach your H-index, and for each paper listed in the publication list, provide proof of its SCIE/SSCI/EI status for the year prior to its publication, arranged according to the order in the list.

    For example, if the effective appointment date is February 1st, 2026:

Ø  Representative and major publications must be works for which the applicant is the first author or corresponding author, published within five years (from February 1st, 2021 to January 31st, 2026) after obtaining the previous faculty rank.

Ø  Reference publications (papers) must be published within seven years (from February 1st, 2019 to January 31st, 2026) after obtaining the previous faculty rank.

6.  One letter of recommendation from the PhD advisor is required; additional letters from current or former employers/professors are also accepted.

Please compile and bind all items in the order of (1) through (5) and publications. Submit one hard copy and one scanned PDF file. Recommendation letters should be sealed separately.

All forms are available from the KMU Human Resources Office website. Do not forget to complete the Personal Data Collection Consent Form.

Candidates meeting the requirements will be notified in August 2025 for interviews, during which original documents must be presented.

The interview includes a presentation on your specialization, teaching demonstration, and research performance, followed by a Q&A session with the committee.
